February and March

February

In the hospital right after Liam was born

Liam and Hunter 3 days old

Alex loves his little brother. When Liam had to get some blood drawn at the lab when he was a few days old, we went to walk through the doors at the hospital, Alex blocked us and said that we couldn't take his brother back to the "hosible."

Jordan turned 25!

Alex sang happy birthday to him. It was so cute!

Liam Ray

Mel and I at 37 weeks!

My due date was February 25th. At my ultrasound in October, the baby was measuring with a due date of February 22nd. At my ultrasound in November, the baby was measuring with the due date of February 15th. The doctor kept my due date as the 25th.

I went into the hospital with contractions on February 10th. I was one day shy of being 38 weeks. Since I wasn't dilating on my own, I was sent home.

At my appointment on the 17th, since I would be 39 weeks the next day, the doctor said we could pick a day for our little one to arrive. He was a little concerned because my blood pressure was high and wanted to see me again on the 21st regardless of what we decided. We talked about it, and decided to have our baby on the 21st.

On the night of the 19th, I made dinner and then went to bed to relax. I was having pretty bad regular contractions. Jordan wanted to take me to the hospital, but I told him I just wanted to wait it out. Soon the contractions stopped and I went to sleep.

I woke up at 5 am on the morning of the 20th and felt fine. I couldn't sleep and laid in bed for about an hour and finally fell back asleep. I woke up around 8 and went to the bathroom. I soon realized that my water broke! I didn't know it at first cause I wasn't having any pain or contractions. I told Jordan and we got ready to go to the hospital. I went to text my mom and realized that my sister had been admitted to the hospital earlier that morning to have her baby too. I text them both, and of course, they thought I was joking. Grandma Burrows came over to get Alex, and we went to the hospital to have our baby!

We arrived at the hospital shortly after 9 am and I was already dilated to a 4. My little sister was right next door so my mom was able to be with both of us. There were several nurses taking care of me, along with 3 LPN students. They got my IV in around 10 and went to do my epidural. Something went wrong, and my blood pressure went down and I started passing out. They pumped my full of 5 liters of fluid and gave me meds in my IV to raise my blood pressure. My legs got this really awful feeling to them. I was numb and couldn't move my legs, but they hurt so bad, and I felt like I had to move my legs.  After that, they took out the epidural.
I was in so much pain with every contraction, I had to grab onto the side of the bed. I couldn't breathe because they hurt so bad. The nurses weren't sure if I was able to have another epidural, and they didn't want to give me anything through my IV, because it would affect the baby.
Around 12:30, I was dilated to and to an 8, and I was finally going to get another epidural. When he went to put the epidural in, he hit a vein, so he had to do another one. Third time's the charm!
Soon after that I was dilated to a 10 and ready to start pushing. When the doctor was getting his gown and gloves on, I asked the time. Jordan said it was 2:08. Shortly after that, I starting pushing. Even with the epidural, I was able to feel some pain and pressure, but it's wasn't as bad.

IT'S A BOY!

Our little guy joined this world at 2:26 P.M. on February 20th. Happy Birthday Aunt Jana!
He weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces and was 22 inches long.

We named him Liam (Life Is A Miracle) Ray Burrows.

Grandma Burrows missed his birth cause she was taking care of grandkids.

Alex was excited to have a little brother to play with!

His "twin cousin" joined us at 11:53 P.M., and due to his difficult delivery, they took him straight to the nursery where he was majority of the time he was in the hospital. So we don't have pictures of them together while in the hospital.

The last few months

We were really busy during the holiday season and enjoyed every minute of it.

Alex LOVES trains.

Alex turned 3 in December. I still cannot believe he is 3 already.

Alex was shy with Santa this year.

He was very spoiled for his birthday.

We went to Zoo Lights at the zoo. Grandma Burrows was able to come with us.

We painted our nutcrackers

and decorated gingerbread houses.

Mine, Jordan's, and Alex's finished products.

Our Christmas Eve jammies.

Alex was spoiled again!

Alex loves to dress like BATMAN!
His favorite shirt is his "blue Rudolph shirt" and had to wear every chance he could. As soon as it would come out of the dryer, he would want to put it back on.

He loves to shave like Dad.
