My monkey baby turned 1 on December 8th. We had his birthday party the Saturday before. I can't believe how much he has grown and changed!

At his one year appointment he weighed 20.5 pounds and was 30 inches long.

He now has 11 teeth and is trying to get the 12th one in.

He wasn't too sure about the cake at first..

He ended up with cake everywhere. It was all over the floor and wall, and in his hair. He had so much fun with it..

Things are finally starting to slow down at work, just in time for the holidays. October was a very busy month. We spent almost every weekend up north. My 25th birthday was on the 7th, so we went to Salt Lake and spent the night at the Anniversary Inn. We went to Lagoon the next day.

Here is Alex opening my birthday present!

On our way to Salt Lake, we stopped to take family pictures. It happened to have snowed the night before.

We stayed in the Phantom of the Opera room at the Anniversary Inn.

They gave us cheesecake and apple cider.

The next morning we had room service. It was so fun to stay there, and I would recommend people to stay there.

On Saturday, we went to Frightmares at Lagoon. Alex had so much fun! He was so cute.

I was so nervous when he was on the boat. He loved it though!

Alex is growing up so fast. It's hard to believe he's already nine months old. It seems like yesterday I found I was pregnant with him. He has brought so much joy to our family, and it's hard to imagine what life would be like without him. He is crawling all over the place. He loves to crawl out into the hall, where we have hardwood floors, and tap his hand on it. He loves to dance and watch cartoons. He talks in his own little language. He throws his toys when he gets mad. He knows his name, and turns when Jordan says, "Where's Alex?" It's so cute. He has four teeth. He is so ticklish. He loves gerber puffs and loves to feed himself. He is always smiling and happy. We love him so much.

We went camping for Labor Day. It's the first time Alex has ever been camping. And it was the first time Jordan and I have been camping together since we've been married. Mel and Kaz went with us. It was such a beautiful camping site and very secluded so we didn't have people driving by a lot. Alex had a chocolate cow tail on the way to the canyon. Let's just say he loved it.. It's written all over his face. We also found out that he loves graham crackers.

International Days

I know, I'm a little behind in posting. I will try to catch up in the next week. We've been so busy lately. Jordan is back in school and still working, and I am working a new job. I am still at the same place, but now I am the MDS coordinator. I collect information and that's how the company gets paid. It means more money, but also a lot more work and a lot more responsibilities. The last couple weeks I have been putting in about 60 hours a week trying to learn my new job, so Jordan's been with Alex a lot more. That's ok though, cause Alex loves his dad. I'm hoping within the next month, things will calm down, and I'll only be working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, instead of what I've been doing. I'm excited to finally be able to have weekends and holidays off.

Grandpa Burrows made some yummy raspberry ice cream so we all went over to Mama and Papa Burrows's house for some ice cream and fun.

My nephew turned 9, and his birthday was at Huntington Lake, so we all went and had a blast!

Anniversary Weekend Get-Away

Friday was our 2nd year anniversary, so we decided to get away for a couple of days.

Year One is Paper, and we got airline tickets to Sydney, Australia. We weren't able to be there on our anniversary because it is winter in July, but we had to wait until late May because Jordan and I were in school.

Year Two is Cotton. We didn't go extreme, like last year, but we still incorporated cotton. See if you can pick out the cotton.

We started the day by going to the Greek Festival to get some goodies, and then we headed out of town.

We stopped at the Spanish Fork park to eat a picnic that Jordan had packed. It was raining a little bit, but other than that, the weather was perfect. We had the whole park to ourselves.

He is so cute. He even packed us some sparkling cider.

We didn't have much planned once we got to Salt Lake, but we decided to go to the Living Planet Aquarium. We saw fish and turtles, and we even saw some penguins.

Jordan had never been to the Mayan, so we decided that would be a fun place to go. I think Alex enjoyed it and had fun watching the shows.

The food was yummy.. I couldn't eat it all though.

We stayed in the king suite at the Crystal Inn. It was a bit pricey, but it was our anniversary, so it was okay to splurge a little bit.. Right? We had our own jacuzzi in our room. The breakfast was almost like eating at a restaurant.

The next day, he was ready for more fun.

We went to the Timpanogos Cave Monument. We didn't go into the cave, but we hiked around the park for a bit.

I think Alex enjoyed it a lot. He kept looking around and smiling.

We took a drive to Park City. We didn't do much there though.

We went to the mall and got some See's chocolates (yum). We stopped at Red Robin for dinner. (Jordan got bored with the camera)

Last week we went to Vegas for a few days. My little sister and her friend rode down with us, and my little brother and his friend drove in my brother's truck. Alex did better than I thought he would. We stayed at the Luxor, which is nice, but I think the Flamingo is still my favorite. We went to the Flamingo hotel to see the flamingos. And yes, they are real flamingos.

We went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

Alex had fun just enjoying the ride.

We had to get a picture with Rafiki because the last time we were in Vegas, we saw The Lion King from Broadway, and we LOVE it!

Alex recently started eating solids. I finally got to use the baby bullet that my sister bought me, and I love it! So far, I've made rice cereal, sweet potato, and peas. It's so easy to make, and it saves tons of money on baby food.

He wasn't too sure about the rice cereal.

I think the sweet potato is his favorite so far.

I was feeding him peas, and I guess I wasn't feeding him fast enough. He decided to take the spoon and do it himself.

Our little boy is growing so fast. He's roughly 25.5 inches and weighs a little over 14 pounds. He's rolled over, from his belly to his back. He's teething, and anything he can get his hands on, goes straight in the mouth. He can hold onto his toys and stuffed animals. He smiles and giggles and talks to us everyday. He loves to stretch and kick his legs up. He laughs when his legs or belly get tickled. He sleeps great at night and naps little during the day. Whenever he's eating and hears Daddy's voice, he has to turn and look. He also gets distracted by the tv. He loves to watch it. He doesn't like to be left alone for a long time. He loves attention. He loves to go on walks and car rides. He is the best blessing we have received, and we don't know how we ever lived without him. We love him so much.

Alex is growing so fast. He has recently discovered his hands. He smiles, laughs, and coos. He loves to take a bath and only cried when we took him out of the water. Since he was born, he has slept off and on in his crib, but has mostly slept in a bassinet in our room. Two nights ago, he finally slept in his crib all night and only woke up at 2am to eat. He is going to be blessed February 27th at 9:00 am.

We got to the hospital on Tuesday, December 7, around 10 am, the doctor broke my water around 5 pm, and Alex was born the next morning, December 8, at 7:27 am. He weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 21 inches long. Jordan was by my side the whole time and was able to cut his cord.

Because I went so long with my water being broken, Alex had to have IV antibiotics for 48 hours.

We finally got home Friday night around 11:30.

Alex's bilirubin was 12.9 so he had to be on the lights for a few days.

He sat on Santa's lap.

It's my last night at work, (I thought I wouldn't make it this far) and still no baby. I'll be 39 weeks on the 2nd. I was checked the Friday before Thanksgiving (at 37 weeks) and was not dialated at all. I have been contracting a little more each day, but not enough to do anything. Hopefully we start to see some kind of progress in the next few days. We can't wait to meet our little guy.

My baby showers are Saturday October 9th (by my mom and sisters) and Saturday November 6th (by Jordan's mom and sisters). I'm not sure of the place or time yet. You can come to one or the other or both! We are registered at walmart.com and target.com.

I will be 29 weeks this week. He is growing and moving a lot, and still does not have a name. I go into for my glucose test on Wednesday, and our next ultrasound will probably be the end of next week.

The nursery is not put together yet, but I'm working on it. I can't believe how fast time is flying.

Jordan is busy with work, school, and a play. He is in Sweeney Todd which opens on October 7!

The rumors are true! We are expecting our first child! We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday and saw the baby's heartbeat. The doctor said everything looks good, and we should expect our little one around December 9th! We are way excited, but it stills seems so unreal.

For some other good news..

We are still going to Australia in May. We've already bought our plane tickets and booked our hotel. We will be gone for 12 days! We can't wait to go to the beach and go snorkeling. We are also looking forward to visiting the Sydney LDS Temple.

The nursing program's pinning is tomorrow night, and graduation is on Saturday! I will finally be done with the RN program and will get my associate's degree! I am so excited! This has been the longest, most difficult year. I could not have done it without the love and support of my family.

6 months!

I can't believe how fast time flies! We have been married for 6 months already! We both went to class yesterday morning, and then Jordan went to work and I babysat our niece. Aside from being busy and apart most the day, we were still able to spend a nice quiet evening together with a candlelit dinner and a movie. We are more in love today than ever, and we can't wait to see what the future has in store for us.
My school schedule has allowed me more days off so I am able to work 3 12 hour shifts a week instead of 2 12 hour and 3 4 hour shifts. This means more evenings at home and less stress! The program is going great with about 2 tests a week, but I'll be done the beginning of April, and I can't wait til graduation!
Jordan is busy and working hard with work and school. He is the greatest husband in the world. He didn't even get mad at me when I came home with another puppy last week, even though he knew he was going to be the one to take care of him.
We are currently planning a vacation to Australia in mid May! We are also going back to Vegas for a visit in June. We are so excited and can't wait for a much needed vacation.
Christmas was great this year. I was very spoiled by "Santa." We were able to spend the morning together, but then I had to go to work. We still had an amazing time together.

Baby It's Cold Outside

We went to Helper's annual light parade. It was freezing, but we still had a good time. We love spending time together.

We put up our Christmas trees.. yes trees. We put our 6 1/2 foot tree with multi-colored lights and ornaments we've collected through the years, downstairs in our family room.

And we put our 4 foot tree upstairs in the living room. This year we decorated it blue and silver.

I also found a Charlie Brown Christmas tree that I've wanted forever! And we found a blue blanket to put around it.

We went to the Rhodes annual Christmas party and saw Santa, but we didn't get a picture with him.

We went shopping at Wal-Mart and found this GINORMOUS lemon, so we had to take a picture.

Jordan got a spike this year. He had a blast going out with his dad!

We had fun decorating the house for Halloween! The spider webs kept getting stuck to me so Jordan ended up doing most of them, and he did a great job!

The second day of the conference, we all got really bored, so we passed a banana around the room and all signed it. We gave it to Kimball, and he loved it!

This has been a challenging semester for me, and I'm so glad it will be over in 3 weeks. Jordan is doing well and loves his new job! We are excited for the holiday season that is coming upon us. I'm excited that we'll be less stressed and we'll be able to spend more time together! We hope everyone is doing well.

So.. Wednesday is the big day! I am so excited! We are leaving for Vegas early Tuesday morning and will get married on Wednesday. I can't believe how fast time has gone by.

My sister, Jordan, and I took out our endowments on the 24th! My grandma had a difficult time, especially with the heat. I'm glad she was able to come. Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Cassie, Lori, and the people from the ninth ward for being there and supporting us!

I can't believe how fast time is flying. In 3 1/2 weeks Jordan and I are getting married! We are (hopefully) sending out invitations the end of this week/beginning of next week. Last Wednesday, my mom and I went to Orem to drop off my dress to be cleaned and spent the day together. It was real fun and nice to get away and not have to worry about things. Tomorrow I get to go back to Orem to pick it up and get the last of the decorations for the reception. :) This past week I also received my temple recommend. Amanda and I are going through Mt. Timpanogos on the 24th at 3pm.. 10 days, and I can't wait! My bridal shower is on the 26th, and then we're leaving for Vegas on the 7th. These next few weeks are going to be so busy and go by fast. I am way excited and can't wait for a much needed vacation. :) It will also be nice to have both families together. I am also looking forward to some sunshine.. I've had enough wind and rain for awhile!

I moved into the house a month ago, and with working full time, I am still so unorganized. I'm still trying to get things put together for the wedding. I am just so busy, and it's only going to get more hectic after I get married and go back to school. The other day I stopped by my sister's work for a minute, and my niece was there. I took her home with me for a couple hours. I was so stressed out cause I had so much to do. I tried doing dishes, but she insisted on helping me pull the dishes out of the dishwasher. I just wanted her to go play. She got food and toys all over the kitchen floor and was getting into everything. She found some bubbles left over from Easter, handed them to me, and pointed to the door. I stopped cleaning and took her outside on the porch. I blew some bubbles for her and was amazed when her little face lit up. She giggled and tried to catch them. At that moment I realized that she is only a year and a half and didn't have one care in the world. I was getting too stressed out over dishes and cleaning that could wait. Without knowing, she showed me to take time out and not worry about things so much and to enjoy the little things in life. While getting ready for work this morning, I noticed her little handprints she left on the oven. I think I can wait to clean it.

Life is still busy as ever. Today is my day off after working 6 days straight. And in the meantime, I've been signing paper after paper for a house. It went to the underwriters yesterday and is still in the works. It's a brand new 4 bedroom house. It's the perfect price, our payments won't be too bad, and it's in the perfect location! Last week I got a dog. My little sister named her Dakota and my little brother named her Jamoca. But I named her Sadie. Right now she is staying at my mom's house until I move.

So the loan for the house we really wanted fell thru, but after really thinking about it, we've decided that it is for the best. The Lord will not give us anything we cannot handle, and when I really think about it, the payments would have been a little high. Jordan and I would rather take that extra few hundred dollars a month and travel or enjoy life a little more. We don't want to be stressed out trying to pay for a 5 bedroom house we really don't need right now anyway. So we're back to searching for a house we can call home. This time we really know what we're looking for :D.
On another note, today is Valentine's Day, and Jordan is at work. That's okay cause I don't really care for it anyway. Jordan had an appointment in Provo yesterday, so we spent the day up there. We celebrated Friday the 13th instead of Valentines :P. We went to the malls and to dinner and a movie. It was great spending the day together, just the two of us. While he was at his appointment, I went window shopping and looked at the wedding dresses. I saw a few that I like and can't wait to go with my mom and sisters in April. 143 days left till the big day! Jordan called the temple the other day and got it reserved. We are getting married 07.08.09 @ 10 am! It's going to be great!

We made a verbal offer on the house yesterday, and they accepted it! We are going down to Remax today to make a written offer. All we need to do now is get approved for the loan! I am wayy nervous but so excited! Things are going great!

164 Days and Counting..

Jordan and I will be married in 164 days. I know it seems like a lot, but we've already been engaged for 116 days! Time is flying. We are still getting our guest lists together, so if you would like an announcement/invitation, just send me your address. We are way excited to go through the Las Vegas Temple and honeymoon there for a week! We recently started getting serious about buying a house, and there is one in particular we have in mind. We are giving it time and hoping everything will fall into place. I am so excited and can't wait to have a home of my own! I will miss getting to see my neice every day (especially in the mornings), but she will only be a mile or so away. Plus my sister and I meet up at the wellness center 3-4 evenings a week. Which reminds me.. our team (Flabuless) has been doing awesome! Last week our team was 6th out of 63 teams, and this week we made 4th! Way to go team! I have lost 11.4 pounds since January 1st and I feel great. Sometimes it's hard, but it's totally worth it!

Thursday we went to SLC with Jordan's parents. We ate at Chili's and then went to see Jeff Dunham. He was awesome and so funny! I couldn't stop laughing. It was great!

Jordan and I had a great Christmas break. New Year's was our first actual holiday that we were able to be together and celebrate. We spent the evening at his parents house, and played games with them and his siblings. We had a blast playing Taboo! We then came over to my house and brought in the new year. It was great being together, and being able to finally celebrate a holiday together.

He gave me his hat and took my tiara.

I am so excited for this new year. Jordan and I are getting married in 6 months, and the planning is coming along well. I got all my flowers for my bouquets yesterday, and I can't wait to put them together. :) Time is flying by so fast. I can't believe we've been engaged for 3 months already. I'm glad we have a long engagement, because I've been able to sit back and relax and take things slow and really put some thought into what I really want. I love him so much and am so excited to become his wife!

Amanda, Jordan, and I officially signed up for The Big Meltdown at the Wellness Center. It lasts for 20 weeks, and I am so excited to be committed to losing weight! We're going wedding dress shopping on April 13th, :) and I want to look amazing!

Jordan is going back to school this week, so he is going to be so busy with work, school, family, and everything else. I am still working full time as an LPN, but I'm not in school so I'm not as busy as he is. This year is going to be so busy and exciting for us. We have so many plans for the future, with the wedding being the biggest!

The Polar Express, Twilight, and then some...

We are so busy. Other than working a bunch, here is a little of what we have been up to..
Yesterday Jordan and I went up north. We saw this amazing, colorful tree outside the mall and decided to take a quick pic.

After shopping, I surprised Jordan with tickets to The Polar Express at the Heber Valley Railroad. We rode the train, had cookies and hot cocoa, and read The Polar Express. We even saw Santa and the Mrs. who gave us a bell. We had so much fun!

Thursday night, Jordan and I sat outside in the freezing cold for five hours to see the midnight showing of Twilight! It was amazing, even though my toesies got frozen.

Wedding plans are coming along good. Time is flying by, and I'm so excited. I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams and become his Mrs.. I also can't wait to become part of his amazing family. We are looking for a house to buy and are hoping to have it this spring. Things are going great, and we are so happy!

Yesterday Jordan came over and helped me babysit my niece Madison. She is a very busy little girl! We made carmel/chocolate popcorn and strawberry smoothies.. Yum! She really liked the smoothie. Jordan and I carved a pumpkin while Madie ate, and then we all watched a movie. We had so much fun!

Jordan and I have been engaged for 3 weeks already! Wedding plans are coming along so-so. We have our colors picked out, and that's about it. We have a wedding website, but it's not completed yet. We'll let you all know when it's ready. We have 37 weeks to go, and we are so excited!

We went to Lagoon last Saturday and had a blast! We rode the rides, went through the haunted houses, watched the Monster Mash, got our picture done in Pioneer Village, and shared a carmel apple! :) We enjoy spending time together and look forward to our life ahead!
